Brockville 2018 Awards - 5 Blooms and a Special Mention for Heritage

Brockville, City of the Thousand Islands, Ontario, received a rating of 5 Blooms and a Special Mention for Heritage from Communities in Bloom Ontario. The awards were presented at the Council Meeting on Tuesday October 9th, 2018 by Judge Doreen Hill.

Brockville also received a Criteria Awards for:

Tidiness - which was sponsored by Landscape Ontario
Landscape - which was sponsored by Landscape Ontario
Community Gardens – which was sponsored by Brett Young

In July and August, trained volunteer judges Doreen Hill and Ron Dubyk travelled to Brockville to evaluate the overall contributions of municipal council and departments; industry; businesses and the private sector – including volunteer efforts – in regards to the following criteria: Tidiness, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Urban Forestry & Trails, Landscape and Floral Displays.

Within the actual context of climate changes and environmental concerns, communities involved in the program can be proud of their efforts, which provide real and meaningful environmental solutions and benefit all of society.
